MeteoRain (DreamDisc '24 Jam)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
Meteors are falling from the sky! Avoid them for as long as possible to make an high score in this SEGA Dreamcast game for 1 to 4 players.
This game is my entry for the DreamDisc '24 Jam: https://itch.io/jam/dream-disc-24
Although it's running on a SEGA Dreamcast, this game is 100% made in Lua! Indeed, I used the wonderful Antiruins Engine by Bertholet that allows to easily create Dreamcast games in Lua. If you ever used a LOVE 2D (a popular PC game engine using lua), it's a very similar tool, but the resulting game will run on a actual console, our beloved SEGA Dreamcast!
If you want to try your hand at making Dreamcast games, I really recommend you Antiruins Engine: it's a real pleasure to make games with it. And I'm also sharing the heavily commented source code of my game here if it can help you making your own Dreamcast games in Lua.
For more background, this is a port/remake of a previous homebrew game I did first for the SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis, and also later for the Game Boy Advance.

Hi, could you post the final versions of Dangerous Demolition for Master system and Game Gear? Please
Hi! The release of the digital ROM version of this game are still in the work. I know it's been quite a long time, but if everything goes well, the physical version of the game for Game Gear should be released this year, and the goal would be to have the rom version available after this physical release. The gameplay on the Game Gear version have been improved using the feedback I got from the Master System release by-the-way.
The intensity gave me a good laugh when it really started up, the audio going really well with that.
Looks great too. Would love to play it with a few friends (maybe with a few power-ups or ways to screw each other over?)
Hi! Thanks a lot for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :)
The multiplayer doesn't feature ways to bother the other players (it's a matter of who can survive the longest), but this is a neat idea! :)
